Kyndryl signs three-year deal to manage Bord Gáis Energy’s entire hyperscaler and private cloud environment

Kyndryl, a leading IT infrastructure services provider, has extended its partnership with Bord Gáis Energy for another three years, providing enhanced Managed Services support for its hybrid cloud environment. In addition to managing Bord Gáis Energy’s Microsoft Azure and private cloud infrastructure, Kyndryl will oversee the migration of the entire environment to the cloud and SaaS, in line with the ‘Kyndryl | Bord Gáis Energy Strategic Technology Roadmap’.

This renewed agreement will also see Kyndryl offering Backup-as-a-Service, Storage-as-a-Service, and Compute-as-a-Service solutions to help Bord Gáis Energy optimize its datacenter space, reduce CO2 emissions, and enhance end customer experiences. The partnership between the two companies has already resulted in the successful migration of nearly half of Bord Gáis Energy’s workloads to Microsoft Azure, with Kyndryl Bridge automation reducing IT incident tickets and ensuring uninterrupted system performance.

One of the key solutions implemented by Bord Gáis Energy and Kyndryl is the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, which has significantly improved event and alert management, as well as security code controls. This automation platform has enhanced stability across Bord Gáis Energy’s IT estate, with automated incident diagnosis and resolution capabilities leading to faster ticket closures.

Chris Davis, Managing Director of Kyndryl Ireland, expressed his excitement about renewing the partnership with Bord Gáis Energy and highlighted the company’s focus on developing expertise in Data and AI domains. As the two companies look towards future migrations to Azure and SaaS, Kyndryl is poised to offer advanced application management services for Bord Gáis Energy’s critical workloads.

In a time when energy costs are on the rise, Kyndryl remains committed to helping Bord Gáis Energy improve customer experiences and achieve its goal of creating a greener, fairer future. By leveraging digital services and innovative technologies, both companies aim to drive business growth and sustainability.
