Ververica plans ‘Bring Your Own Cloud’ deployment option for its Streaming Data Platform

Ververica, the pioneering creator of Apache Flink and a leading expert in real-time data streaming, has announced its new ‘Bring Your Own Cloud’ (BYOC) deployment option for the Ververica Streaming Data Platform.

The unveiling took place in Berlin at Flink Forward, Ververica’s annual event for the Apache Flink and data streaming community.

The BYOC deployment option is set to be launched towards the end of November 2024, offering customers a managed Apache Flink experience that utilizes their existing cloud infrastructure to maximize the flexibility and scalability of the Ververica Streaming Data Platform. Initially, the BYOC deployment will be accessible for customers using AWS infrastructure, with plans to expand to other major cloud providers like Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure in the near future.

Powered by Ververica’s VERA engine, the BYOC deployment of the Streaming Data Platform allows customers to build both batch and real-time streaming applications while maintaining the security of their cloud environments. Developed in-house by Ververica, the BYOC solution aligns with Zero Trust principles, ensuring customers have control over data governance and sovereignty as their data is securely hosted in their cloud environments.

Vladimir Jandreski, Chief Product Officer at Ververica, expressed, “We are excited to introduce a solution that offers organizations the perfect balance between flexibility and security in their cloud infrastructures. Our new offering allows users to leverage their existing investments while benefiting from a seamlessly integrated, zero-trust approach. This is a game changer for businesses looking to stay agile without compromising on control and security.”

Furthermore, BYOC facilitates seamless integration with an organization’s existing tech stack, making it easy to plug into DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and other critical processes. This results in faster application development cycles with minimal downtime. The platform’s scalability enables businesses to optimize their real-time and batch workloads, ensuring cost efficiency without sacrificing their cloud strategy.

Alexander Walden, CEO of Ververica, stated, “At Ververica, we are dedicated to empowering our customers with cutting-edge streaming data solutions that deliver tangible business value. Our new BYOC deployment offering, with speeds up to twice as fast as open source Flink, is just one of the ways we are ensuring that our customers have the most flexible, powerful, and secure stream processing solutions available.”
