FLOKI Flourishes As Coinbase Adds Support for Dogecoin (DOGE)-Rivaling Memecoin

A new dog-themed meme asset, Floki (FLOKI), has seen a surge in popularity after receiving support from leading US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.

Coinbase announced on X that it will be adding support for Floki (FLOKI), a memecoin inspired by Elon Musk’s pet dog and launched in 2021.

“Coinbase will add support for FLOKI (FLOKI) on the Ethereum network (ERC-20 token)… Trading will start on or after 9AM [Pacific time] on 21 November 2024, subject to liquidity conditions. Once enough supply of this asset is established, trading on our FLOKI-USD pair will be phased in. Support for FLOKI may be limited in certain jurisdictions.”

The news of Floki being added to Coinbase caused its price to soar from $0.000234 to a peak of $0.000283 on November 20th. Currently, the token is trading at $0.000256, marking a 10.3% increase in the last 24 hours.

FLOKI serves as the utility token for the Floki ecosystem, which offers various decentralized finance (DeFi) services on both the Ethereum (ETH) and Base blockchains.

Earlier this week, Coinbase revealed its plans to include FLOKI in its listing roadmap to ensure transparency and prevent token front-running before official listing.
