Wi-Fi HaLow router connects IoT devices to networks

Morse Micro announced the release of their first Wi-Fi HaLow Access Point, the HaLowLink 1, expanding their range of IoT evaluation tools.

The HaLowLink 1 is designed to showcase the capabilities of Wi-Fi HaLow, serving as a top-tier reference design and evaluation platform that highlights Wi-Fi HaLow’s extended range, high throughput, and low-power connectivity in a versatile all-in-one device. Created in partnership with GL.iNet, the HaLowLink 1 combines sturdy hardware with a user-friendly interface, making it easy to set up a Wi-Fi HaLow network. This innovative tool offers global manufacturers, telecommunication partners, system integrators, and developers a plug-and-play evaluation experience and reference design that will expedite the commercial adoption of Wi-Fi HaLow Access Points.

At the heart of the HaLowLink 1 lies the AzureWave AW-HM593 module, featuring Morse Micro’s Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow MM6108 silicon, providing the extended range and low power consumption needed for a wide range of IoT applications. With support for various bandwidths, including 1/2/4/8 MHz, the HaLowLink 1 ensures robust connectivity even in expansive environments. This is further enhanced by the integration of the Mediatek MT7621A dual-core CPU and the MT7603E 2×2 802.11n 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 solution, facilitating seamless communication between Wi-Fi HaLow and traditional Wi-Fi devices.

The HaLowLink 1 offers a myriad of use cases, demonstrating its versatility in supporting both HaLow and traditional Wi-Fi networks. These include creating Wi-Fi HaLow networks, connecting devices to Wi-Fi HaLow networks, extending the range of existing networks, and enabling long-range wireless connectivity over Wi-Fi HaLow with a simple setup process.

With its feature-rich design, the HaLowLink 1 is a powerful solution that pushes the boundaries of what IoT devices can achieve, catering to smart home applications, industrial IoT, and beyond.

The HaLowLink 1 is now available for sampling directly from Morse Micro to select tier-1 OEMs and ISPs. It will be accessible to the wider Wi-Fi HaLow developer community starting from Q1 2025 through Mouser for $99, fostering innovation across various IoT applications.
