Nerdio secures $500m in Series C investment from General Atlantic at $1bn+ valuation

Nerdio, an automated End-User Computing (EUC) platform revolutionizing the deployment and management of Microsoft cloud technologies, has announced a definitive agreement for a $500 million minority investment from General Atlantic, a global growth investor, with participation from Lead Edge Capital and StepStone.

Upon finalization, this investment will increase Nerdio’s valuation to over $1 billion, marking a quadruple increase in just two years.

Organizations often struggle with managing complex cloud environments, relying on highly skilled IT professionals and outdated tools. This challenge has become more pressing as flexible work models become widespread and end-user computing demands higher levels of sophistication. Analysts predict that the Desktop-as-a-Service market will surpass $60 billion by 2037, growing at an annual rate of 18%, as companies worldwide seek more efficient ways to provide secure, high-performance digital workspaces for their employees.

Nerdio addresses this challenge with a platform that streamlines Microsoft cloud management, automating both simple and intricate processes, optimizing existing resources, and enabling cost savings. The platform empowers organizations to deliver superior digital workspace experiences for employees while removing the complexity typically associated with cloud infrastructure, all without the need for specialized technical expertise.

The Nerdio platform currently serves over 5 million users across 15,000 customers in more than 50 countries, including prominent names such as Chevron, Impact Networking, KraftHeinz, ASDA, Carnival Cruise Line, Willis Towers Watson, and Penn State University.

Noteworthy achievements for Nerdio in the past year include:

  • Achieving profitable growth of over 85% year-over-year in ARR
  • Being honored as the 2024 Microsoft Americas Partner of the Year
  • Influencing over $350 million of Microsoft revenue
  • Introducing 20 product releases, including new Microsoft 365 management capabilities for Nerdio Manager for MSP, extensive endpoint management and application delivery enhancements, and integration of AI into all products
  • Expanding its global footprint with new offices in the EMEA and APAC regions

“The workplace landscape has undergone a fundamental shift, with remote and hybrid models becoming standard across organizations of all sizes,” stated Vadim Vladimirskiy, co-founder and CEO of Nerdio.

“Many companies face challenges with the technical complexities and costs associated with this transformation. Nerdio’s platform streamlines what would typically require months of engineering work into automated processes manageable by any IT team. We are excited to collaborate with General Atlantic in the next phase of our growth journey and believe this investment will expedite our mission to simplify and make cloud management cost-effective for every organization, regardless of their technical resources.”

“Moving from traditional virtual desktop infrastructures to Nerdio has been truly transformative for Teleperformance,” shared Garion Bown, global VP of virtualization technologies at Teleperformance.

“The issue with traditional VDI lies in the legacy infrastructure mindset. Leveraging cloud capabilities allows you to essentially manage your entire infrastructure, which led me to Nerdio. The ability to have a central management platform for my organization, regardless of my location in the world, was a key driver for me.”

The new funding will drive innovation and growth across several key areas:

  • Boosting product innovation for the End-User Computing (EUC) market and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) with enhanced Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Microsoft 365 management solutions to streamline IT operations and enhance efficiency
  • Expanding Nerdio’s global reach to meet increasing international demand
  • Strengthening its engineering and customer success teams to support rapid customer expansion

“Nerdio is facilitating the shift from virtualization to the cloud and delivering immediate, measurable value to organizations grappling with cloud complexity,” noted Aaron Goldman, Managing Director and Head of Enterprise Technology at General Atlantic. “The team’s ability to blend technical innovation with user-friendliness has resulted in remarkable customer loyalty and growth.”

Asher Hecht, principal at General Atlantic, added: “We are thrilled to support Nerdio’s vision of democratizing advanced cloud workspace technology for all organizations.”

As part of the investment, General Atlantic will secure two seats on Nerdio’s board, with representation from Aaron Goldman and Asher Hecht. With a debt-free, profitable operation and an expanding global reach, Nerdio is well-positioned to scale while upholding its mission of making cloud management accessible, cost-effective, and effortless for organizations of all sizes and managed service providers.
