Ethereum Leads Blockchain Development Despite Decline in Activity

Developer interactions on Ethereum continue to lead the way in the blockchain space with 168.3K registered developer activities. Despite a slight decrease of 6.08%, Ethereum remains a prominent industry leader. The network welcomed 1.8K new developers, resulting in a 1.86% growth in fresh developer involvement.

BNB Chain saw a 3.29% decline in developer activity, registering 76.4K interactions. The addition of 897 new contributors led to a modest increase of 0.1116%. Meanwhile, Polygon recorded 74K interactions, experiencing a 5.93% decline but showing a 1.16% growth with 698 new developers joining the platform.

Exploring Layer 2 Solutions and Alternative Blockchains

Layer 2 solutions Arbitrum and Optimism have seen significant increases in their activity levels. Arbitrum’s developer activity declined by 4.59% to 62.6K interactions, but saw a 0.5376% increase in developer count with 561 new developers. Optimism experienced a 12.99% decline in developer interactions, totaling 57.3K operations. However, the platform saw a 0.6012% rise in developer numbers with 502 new contributors.

Avalanche remains a strong contender among high-performance blockchain platforms with 51.2K developer interactions, only experiencing a 0.1013% decline in the past month. The platform added 423 new developers, showcasing a 0.7143% growth in platform contributions.

Noteworthy Growth and Declines Among Emerging Blockchains

Harmony stands out as the only platform in the top ten blockchains to experience growth, with 45.8K interactions and a 4.08% increase. The platform also expanded its new developer pool by 4.67%, welcoming 381 contributors. Solana recorded 43.1K interactions, despite a 3.53% decrease, and attracted 418 new developers, marking a 0.7229% growth in developer activity.

Cosmos saw 41.5K interactions, a decrease of 11.13%, but gained 440 new developers, resulting in a 2.8% increase in developer count. Gnosis, ranking tenth among blockchains, recorded 36K interactions, showing a 5.05% decrease. Among all rated blockchain networks, Cosmos experienced a decrease in developer participation, losing 2.2% of its new contributor base.
