SPARK Microsystems introduces its latest innovation in ultra-wideband technology with the SR1120 transceiver.
The SR1120 sets a new standard in data delivery performance, offering lower power consumption, reduced latency, and improved interference robustness compared to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and 2.4 GHz radios. With data throughput rates up to 40.96 megabits per second, the SR1120 surpasses Bluetooth by 40X and maintains a competitive edge over Wi-Fi. Additionally, the transceiver operates at significantly lower power levels, consuming 25X less power than Bluetooth and achieving 60X lower latency.
In addition to superior data communication capabilities, the SR1120 excels in ranging and positioning applications, delivering competitive performance at a fraction of the power consumption of other UWB offerings on the market. It offers approximately 50% greater range than its predecessor, the SPARK SR1020, and supports multi-antenna configurations across a wide spectrum range from 6.2 to 9.5 GHz.
SPARK Microsystems’ UWB technology is driving innovation across various industries, including gaming, edge AI, audio, and IoT applications. With the evolution of body area networks integrating implantable medical devices and real-time neural activity sensors, the need for high-speed data transceivers is more critical than ever.
The SR1120 UWB wireless transceivers are now available through SPARK and its global network of partners and distributors. Customers can leverage the SR1120 evaluation kit (EVK) and software development kit (SDK) for rapid prototyping and integration. For more information on the SR1120, visit here.
