Alpha and Omega Semiconductor Limited announced the launch of the AOZ17517QI series, a 60A eFuse in a compact 5mm x 5mm QFN package. AOS has designed this new eFuse series specifically for 12V power rails in servers, data centers, and telecom infrastructure.
With the stringent reliability requirements for data center and telecom infrastructure products, all critical power rails are safeguarded and monitored by an eFuse device to ensure the main power bus remains protected from interruptions caused by abnormal loads under fault conditions. AOS’ eFuse constantly monitors the current passing through the power switch. In case the current surpasses the predefined limit, the switch will restrict the current to the maximum allowable. If the high current load persists, the switch will eventually shut off, safeguarding downstream loads from harm, effectively serving as a fuse.
