Polymesh Introduces Confidential Assets on DevNe

Polymesh, a blockchain designed for compliant asset markets, has introduced Confidential Assets on its DevNet. This new feature offers privacy-focused settlement tools for regulated real-world assets, allowing institutions to settle transactions onchain while safeguarding sensitive data such as positions, transfer amounts, and counterparty details.

Developed by Polymesh Labs in collaboration with researchers from the University of Edinburgh, Confidential Assets are based on the P-DART privacy protocol. This protocol encrypts transaction data like identities, balances, and asset identifiers, ensuring privacy while still enabling verifiable and final settlement. Issuers can designate auditors who have the ability to decrypt transaction activity for compliance, legal reviews, or operational checks.

The release of Confidential Assets on the DevNet offers a testing environment for developers, custodians, and tokenization platforms to test confidential settlement processes. This feature is now available for experimentation in preparation for future testnet and mainnet deployments.
