COZ has recently completed the initial round of updated Proof of Working rewards, distributing a total of 440 $NEO across seven community contributions in its Proof of Working 2.0 transparency report.
Proof of Working is an initiative spearheaded by COZ aimed at rewarding grassroots ecosystem work that may not fit into traditional grant or sponsorship channels. The program was revitalized to acknowledge tangible outputs such as tooling, research, analytics, and infrastructure, all shared publicly with evidence of delivery.
Award Allocation
During the first round of Proof of Working 2.0, the COZ Council allocated 440 $NEO for completed and publicly accessible deliverables. The recipients varied from security auditors to tool developers and data dashboard creators.
The recognized contributions included:
- Dora Security Audit (Red4Sec): An audit of Dora’s backend infrastructure supporting multiple Neo explorers and ecosystem services, with identified defects rectified by the COZ Core Technologies team.
- Neo Governance Portal (Flamingo Finance): A community governance portal facilitating discussions and support signals for Neo ecosystem governance topics.
- ngx-neoline (smartargs): An Angular service wrapper for the NeoLine N3 dAPI.
- neo-sc-audits (smartargs): A repository consolidating public smart contract audits to promote secure Neo N3 development practices.
- n3-typegen (smartargs): A tool for generating TypeScript contract types from a Neo N3 contract manifest or hash.
- Neo Analytics (ethArek): A public dashboard translating Neo N3 on-chain activity into a daily-updated view with transparent classification rules, including swap detection.
- HushNetwork (aboimpinto): An “AI-native social protocol” implementing NEP-11 and NEP-17 token standards with minting capabilities.

Proof of Working’s Approach
COZ describes Proof of Working as a simple contribution funnel where participants publicly share their completed work, submit it through the COZ Discord, and if chosen, receive weekly $NEO awards decided by the COZ Council. The program acts as an entry point to discover new contributors and potentially open doors to further opportunities, such as grants and sponsorships.
Additionally, COZ reiterated its contributor model, emphasizing that there is no formal joining process, and consistent contributors may eventually qualify to join the COZ organization, with all submitted code required to be licensed under Apache 2.x.
