All-optical circuit switch supports 200G PAM4 in sub-1RU footprint

The Salience Labs 32-port all-optical circuit switch is an optical switching platform designed for AI data center networks, using photonic switching to connect GPUs across racks while reducing network latency and power consumption. The switch supports data rates up to 200G (100 Gbaud PAM4) and eliminates the need for optical-electrical-optical conversion and optical transceivers, enabling lower power usage and improved throughput in high-bandwidth AI workloads. The system is intended for AI data center scale-up and scale-out networking, supporting connectivity across large GPU clusters while remaining compatible with existing optical transceivers and infrastructure. It is the first product in Salience Labs’ optical circuit switch portfolio, which also includes 64- and 128-port architectures designed to support expanding bandwidth and capacity requirements in next-generation data centers.
