Goldman Sachs Says One Investment Theme Is Back After Market Rebound

Goldman Sachs has identified a major investment theme that is making a comeback as the market shows signs of recovery.

In a recent episode of the bank’s Exchanges podcast, Dominic Wilson, senior markets advisor at Goldman Sachs Research, highlighted the resurgence of artificial intelligence (AI) stocks.

“The AI theme has made a rapid comeback not only in discussions but also in market trends. Semiconductor stocks have been performing exceptionally well,” Wilson noted.

“While software stocks have faced some pressure during this recovery period, semiconductors have reached new highs. This indicates a revival of the AI theme in the market.”

Despite the positive outlook, Wilson cautioned investors to be prepared for market volatility in the short term and advised them to remain agile in their decision-making.

“It’s important to have selective long risk positions in assets you believe in, while also maintaining strong hedging strategies to protect against potential downside risks that could disrupt the market,” Wilson explained.

“As the market fluctuates, consider adding more risk to assets you favor at lower prices and increasing hedging measures as the market stabilizes and moves higher.”
