One of the oldest players in the cryptocurrency industry is gearing up for a significant public debut through a substantial initial public offering (IPO).
As reported by Bloomberg, Blockchain.com Group Holdings Inc. is in discussions with potential investors to make its public debut this year. The company aims to raise around $500 million in its IPO and is eyeing a valuation between $4 billion and $6 billion. However, it is open to adjusting the fundraising amount based on market conditions.
It is important to note that these plans are confidential and subject to change as talks with investors progress.
Blockchain.com has refrained from providing any official comments on these developments.
Established in 2011 by three individuals from the original Bitcoin online forum, BitcoinTalk.org, Blockchain.com primarily operates as an exchange and wallet provider in the cryptocurrency space.
This move comes at a time when the crypto market is showing signs of recovery after a prolonged period of decline.
Sources familiar with the matter have indicated that Blockchain.com has been profitable for the past three years.
In 2025, several other cryptocurrency firms, such as Gemini Space Station Inc. and Etoro Group Ltd., went public. However, as the value of digital assets like Bitcoin started to drop last year, the enthusiasm for crypto companies to go public diminished. Post their IPOs, Gemini’s shares plummeted by over 80%, while Etoro’s shares saw a decline of approximately 50%.
