Exciting news for investors as more than 60 prominent US stocks, including NVIDIA, Tesla, SpaceX, Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet, could soon be available for 24/7 tokenized trading.
OKXICE, a collaboration between crypto exchange OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), has officially filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a marketplace for investors to purchase tokenized stocks. The filing was made on Sunday.
Former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who serves as the co-chair of OKXICE, revealed that the platform plans to operate under the SEC’s new “innovation exemption.” Cuomo expressed enthusiasm for creating a global, 24/7 Wall Street and emphasized the importance of anchoring the future of digital finance in the United States.
Having advised OKX on policy matters since 2022, Cuomo played a role in the exchange’s $504 million settlement with the Department of Justice (DOJ) related to anti-money-laundering violations.
ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has been actively expanding its presence in the crypto space. This includes investments in OKX and Polymarket, a prediction market. Additionally, ICE participated in Circle’s $222 million Arc presale alongside BlackRock and Apollo.
