Tencent Cloud showcases super app solution at MWC 2025

During MWC Barcelona 2025, Tencent Cloud introduced its Super App as a Service (TCSAS) to help businesses establish integrated digital ecosystems through super-app strategies.

The Significance of Super Apps in Digital Connectivity

Industry estimates predict that by 2027, over half of the global population will be active users of multiple super apps. Businesses are increasingly utilizing these platforms to enhance user engagement, retention, and revenue by offering seamless digital experiences.

TCSAS is specifically crafted to aid enterprises in creating, expanding, and operating super apps by leveraging Tencent’s expertise with WeChat/Weixin, serving 1.3 billion monthly active users. This platform equips businesses with the necessary tools and infrastructure to integrate mini apps, facilitating plug-and-play functionality on a unified platform.

Furthermore, TCSAS doubles as a digital marketplace, providing mini games, content apps, e-commerce tools, and industry-specific templates. Its features encompass instant messaging, live streaming, and interactive content, which Tencent Cloud claims can enhance user engagement and retention rates.

Super Apps Across Various Industries

Telecom companies are among the early adopters of TCSAS to enhance their digital offerings. Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA) utilized the platform to develop Max It, an open digital super app ecosystem integrating telecommunications, financial services, and e-commerce. Featuring a range of mini apps spanning utilities, lifestyle services, shopping, and entertainment, Max It aims to provide users with a centralized digital experience and is projected to reach 45 million users this year.

Beyond the telecom sector, TCSAS is gaining traction in banking, gaming, and government services. Entities like Telkomsel in Indonesia, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI), and Middle Eastern game developer PlaysOut have integrated the platform to enhance their digital capabilities and streamline operations.

Poshu Yeung, Senior VP of Tencent Cloud International, remarked, “At Tencent Cloud, we strive to leverage the power of digital-first connections to assist businesses in moving swiftly, enhancing competitiveness, and delivering exceptional digital experiences that drive tangible user value. With TCSAS, telcos can seamlessly integrate essential services, marketplaces, and interactive content into a unified platform, fostering user engagement and business growth.”

Tencent Cloud’s TCSAS aims to support this transition by offering a scalable and customizable solution for enterprises seeking to enhance digital experiences and expand their services.
