Bybit Announces Discontinuation of Web3 Products and Services
Bybit, a leading crypto exchange, recently revealed plans to discontinue a range of its Web3 products and services by the end of May. The decision, outlined in an April 16 notice, marks a strategic shift in focus as the platform embarks on a new phase of growth and innovation.
Services Being Phased Out
Among the services set to be phased out are Bybit’s Cloud Wallet and Keyless Wallet, which will no longer be available after May 31, 2025. Users are advised to transfer all assets from these wallets to their Bybit Funding Account or Seed Phrase Wallet before the deadline to avoid potential access issues and additional verification requirements.
Additionally, Bybit will be discontinuing several Web3 trading features, including its DEX Pro platform, Swap & Bridge service, and NFT Marketplace. Users are urged to withdraw NFTs from the marketplace before the shutdown to prevent permanent loss of assets.
Streamlining Focus and Enhancing User Experience
Despite these changes, certain services such as Airdrop Arcade, staking products, and DApps will remain operational. Bybit views the discontinuation of certain offerings as a proactive step towards streamlining its Web3 portfolio and delivering a more efficient and user-centric experience.
The company emphasized the importance of initiating asset transfers promptly and ensuring wallets have adequate gas tokens for transaction completion. For users of the Keyless Wallet, a private key export feature is in the works to enable continued access through third-party platforms.
Bybit’s commitment to enhancing the onchain ecosystem remains unwavering, as it reallocates resources to support long-term development initiatives. Users are encouraged to stay informed about upcoming changes and take necessary actions to safeguard their assets.
