Cesium-less clock meets ITU-T G.8272.1 holdover standard

The VIAVI® ePRTC360+™ from VIAVI Solutions is a Cesium-less enhanced primary reference time clock designed to meet ITU-T G.8272.1 holdover timing requirements, providing less than 30 ns short-term drift and under 100 ns drift over 14 days traceable to UTC. The system uses an internal Rubidium holdover oscillator, integrates with the SecurePNT™ 6200 series, and combines altGNSS GEO-L timing signals with anti-jamming and anti-spoofing antennas to maintain 100 ns timing accuracy during GNSS disruptions. The clock is intended for power grids, transportation, aviation, public safety networks, 5G infrastructure, and AI data centers, supporting resilient timing in environments affected by GNSS jamming or spoofing. It is designed for integration into grandmaster clock systems and PTP synchronization networks, providing an alternative holdover timing architecture without the operational constraints associated with Cesium clocks.
