The PHPM1108 from PhotonIC Technologies is an 8-channel current digital-to-analog converter (IDAC) designed for external laser small form-factor pluggable (ELSFP) modules in AI data center optical systems. The device operates over a 0.8 V to 2.2 V input range, provides up to 0.5 A per channel (4 A combined), features 12-bit programmable current output, an 11-bit SAR ADC for voltage and temperature monitoring, and supports I2C communication up to 1 MHz. Designed for linear-pluggable, co-packaged and near-packaged optics, it enables low-dropout operation with integrated protection features in a 2.73 mm × 2.73 mm × 0.5 mm BGA package.
