Gate Integrates Kasplex Layer 2 on Kaspa for Seamless Token Transfers
Gate has made a significant move by integrating Kasplex Layer 2 on Kaspa, providing users with a direct bridge to transfer $KAS tokens onto an EVM-compatible DeFi environment. This integration allows for easy movement of Kaspa’s native token, $KAS, between the Layer 1 chain and Kasplex L2 directly through the exchange.
Kasplex, built on top of Kaspa’s BlockDAG-based Layer 1, offers Ethereum-style smart contract functionality to a network that operates on a UTXO model similar to Bitcoin. The lightweight Rollup solution executes EVM bytecode off-chain to update Layer 2 state while utilizing Kaspa for ordering and data availability.
By using bridged $KAS as its gas token, Kasplex aims to maintain economic alignment within the Kaspa ecosystem. The project provides a two-way bridge for seamless movement of $KAS between L1 and L2, making smart contract deployment as simple as redirecting RPC endpoints for developers familiar with EVM tooling.
Kasplex’s architecture combines high-throughput BlockDAG design with EVM-compatible execution, unlocking possibilities for DeFi, NFTs, and other dApps on Kaspa. The Rollup-style design supports automated market makers, lending and borrowing markets, stablecoins, and other protocols that enhance the DeFi stack.
With Kaspa’s active trading volume and price fluctuations, the integration of Kasplex Layer 2 offers a promising future for $KAS. Gate’s direct integration of Kasplex into its deposit and withdrawal system aims to facilitate smoother transitions onto L2, driving more $KAS into smart contracts and increasing activity across Kaspa’s expanding DeFi ecosystem.
