S&P 500 Witnessing One of the Best Decades in History, Soars Over 140% in Seven Years

The S&P 500 (SPX) is currently experiencing a robust bull market, with the index more than doubling in value in less than a decade.

According to data from the Kobeissi Letter published, the S&P 500 is on pace to break the record set during the post-war economic boom by the end of this decade.

“US stocks are enjoying one of their most successful decades in history: The S&P 500 has surged by +141.0% since the end of 2019. If this trend continues, the index is projected to end the decade with a total gain of approximately +277%.

This would rank as the second-best decade on record, surpassing the +257% increase observed during the postwar boom era of 1949-1959. By comparison, between 2010 and 2020, the S&P 500 recorded a +190% return following the 2008 Financial Crisis.

The 2020s are shaping up to be one of the most remarkable decades in the history of the US stock market.”

The Kobeissi Letter also reports that it is closely monitoring the surge in gold and silver prices, following the US Treasury Department’s announcement of Treasury buybacks.

“Gold and silver collectively gained +$1.3 trillion in market capitalization after the US Treasury’s recent announcement.

The Federal Reserve is no longer able to control yields, and the US government cannot afford higher yields.

Asset holders will be the primary beneficiaries.”
