We Hosted the First-Ever Build Night: LDN

Our first live build event in London, Build Night: LDN, took place on July 6th. The concept was straightforward: bring people together, equip them with Viso Now, and observe what they could create in just one evening. There were no boring slides or lengthy product tours; instead, it was all about people, laptops, and video.

By the end of the night, participants who had never used a computer vision platform before had functioning applications running on their own footage. This was the essence of the event, and it was a resounding success.

Highlights of the Evening

Attendees were introduced to Viso Now, the world’s first Visual General Intelligence (VGI) platform, in a brief session. Then, the real work began. The focal point of the event was a 60-minute build session where each participant created a viable application with Viso Now, from video upload to receiving results.

\"presentations

The format encouraged action over observation. In no time, screens in the room were displaying detections, queries, and results. Attendees collaborated, exchanged ideas, and the energy shifted from curiosity to focus rapidly.

The event concluded with awards for the three most innovative use cases, each of which evolved from an idea at the start of the evening into a functioning application.

Self-building AI vision

Bring a new AI vision application to life.

Turn ideas into real-world computer vision systems.

Third Place: Exercise and Nutrition Coach

Gabriel Almeida, Sergio Hernandez Ramos, and Fernando Sanchez created a vision agent that analyzes exercise footage to provide personalized workout recommendations and nutrition guidance. Users upload a training session and receive coaching, simulating having a fitness expert in their video library.

Second Place: Street Condition Classifier

El Mehdi Rachidi and Basil Bennett Batov developed an app that identifies road and pavement conditions from images, aiding local boroughs in prioritizing maintenance efficiently. This application has an immediate public benefit, ensuring safer streets for all.

First Place: Emergency Arrival Severity Monitor

Taha Ghafoor, Lachin Naghashyar, and Jihan Khadijah designed a vision agent that analyzes CCTV footage of emergency room arrivals to assess patient severity, helping clinical teams prioritize care effectively. This innovation is particularly valuable in time-sensitive situations, earning recognition from the judges.

Participant Feedback

Attendees were pleasantly surprised by how quickly they were able to achieve results. Many had expected computer vision to be complex, requiring models, training data, and significant time and resources. However, they were able to upload footage, input prompts, and witness results promptly.

\"presenting

For many, the most impactful moment was witnessing their own ideas come to life. Concepts that they had thought would require a dedicated team and budget were up and running on their laptops by the end of the evening.

Conversations continued long after the build session ended. Participants shared and compared applications, exchanged prompts, and discussed their plans for future projects. This kind of engagement is what makes a live event truly memorable.

Key Factors for Success

Hands-on building trumps passive presentations. Rather than passively watching demos, attendees actively built applications. A tangible, self-made application is more convincing than any presentation.

Viso Now eliminates barriers to entry. With its simple video upload and no-code requirement, Viso Now allowed everyone in the room to participate fully, regardless of their technical background.

\"build

The 60-minute time limit fostered focus. A short timeframe encouraged attendees to stay on track, pick a use case, build it, and refine it without getting lost in complexity.

Real-world use cases and actual footage added significance. The applications created during the event addressed real problems faced by the participants in their daily work, making the results practical and meaningful.

Future Plans

Build Night: LDN was just the beginning. We have more build events planned, all following the same hands-on, one-evening format. If you’re interested in experiencing what our attendees did, you can start building with Viso Now today. Upload your footage, write a prompt, and witness the results firsthand.
