Waterproof GPS/GNSS antenna with built-in amplifier added to IoT portfolio

Amphenol RF has recently unveiled a new addition to their expanding antenna collection, featuring an external design with adhesive mount and IP67-rated waterproof protection. This active GPS/GNSS antenna includes a built-in low noise amplifier (LNA) for enhanced performance, making it perfect for applications where signal strength is strong and the receiver is in close proximity to the antenna.

This type of antenna is designed to amplify weak signals from satellites, improving signal quality and reducing noise. It requires an external power source to operate the built-in LNA and is less prone to signal loss over longer cable lengths due to its close proximity amplification. The antenna is connectorized with an SMA connector on a 3-meter pigtail, commonly used in GPS and Glonass, navigation, location-based services, and fleet management applications.

This external antenna joins a diverse range of IoT antennas available in various configurations to support LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and LoRa protocols. These off-the-shelf products can be seamlessly integrated with other Amphenol RF connectors, adapters, and cable assemblies to create a comprehensive end-to-end solution.
