Tanium introduces autonomy driven by AI and security innovation

Tanium, a cybersecurity and systems management company, has recently introduced groundbreaking innovations to meet the increasing demand for AI in enhancing IT operations and security. Unveiled at RSAC 2026, Tanium’s latest advancements in security operations leverage AI tools to boost efficiency for security teams.

Gabe Knuth, principal analyst at Omdia, commended Tanium for making autonomous IT a reality, especially as IT and security teams struggle to keep up with the growing number of devices, threats, vulnerabilities, and signals. Omdia’s report, ‘The Growing Role of AI in Endpoint Management,’ reveals that half of organizations are already using or testing autonomous endpoint management, with the rest planning to do so.

One of Tanium’s key innovations is Tanium Guardian, a security and governance tool that provides real-time alerts and remediation actions using the autonomous capabilities of the Tanium platform. By offering visibility into AI tools within the endpoint environment, Guardian enhances AI governance in real time.

In addition to Guardian, Tanium AI accelerates decision-making with real-time intelligence and automation, offering new competencies in ‘Enrichment’ and ‘Analysis’ within Tanium Security Operations. Tanium Exposure Management enables organizations to address issues promptly by identifying and resolving risks as they arise.

Tanium has also expanded its endpoint management capabilities to include operational technology environments, providing real-time detection and intelligence across previously isolated systems. The integration of human-machine interfaces and programmable logic controllers offers a comprehensive view of IT and industrial operations.

Furthermore, Tanium has introduced a Tanium AI Agent for ServiceNow, automating IT incident workflows and suggesting resolutions to help desk operators based on real-time endpoint intelligence.

Harman Kaur, senior vice president of technology strategy and AI at Tanium, emphasized the company’s commitment to leveraging AI for security teams, translating real-time endpoint intelligence into actionable outcomes at scale. Tanium aims to help organizations address the growing volume and complexity of vulnerabilities and threats more effectively.

As physical AI becomes an integral part of security teams, Tanium’s technology aims to alleviate the burden on these teams. The company’s innovative solutions and AI-driven approach empower organizations to respond to security challenges with speed and efficiency.
