A cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 1×1 client platform has been unveiled by CEVA, catering to the need for faster, lower-latency wireless connectivity in edge-intelligent IoT and embedded systems. This platform facilitates the integration of advanced Wi-Fi 7 features like Multi-Link Operation, enhanced spectral efficiency, and deterministic low-latency communication in compact, power-constrained devices.
The client IP is compliant with the IEEE 802.11be standard and is ideal for wearables, smart-home controllers, industrial sensors, and battery-powered endpoints requiring responsive connectivity for local processing and control. With its 1×1 configuration, it strikes a balance between performance and energy efficiency for single-antenna designs prevalent in cost-conscious products.
Key protocol capabilities include Multi-Link Operation in both multi-radio and single-radio modes, 4K QAM modulation, 160 MHz channels, and Multi-Resource Unit scheduling. These features empower developers to maintain reliable throughput and predictable latency even in crowded RF environments. Furthermore, functionalities like beamforming, dual-carrier modulation, and coexistence management enhance range and robustness in mixed wireless systems.
Security and compatibility are ensured through a comprehensive MAC software stack that encompasses WPA3 and WAPI standards, alongside backward compatibility for Wi-Fi 4 through 6E. The flexible RF interfaces allow seamless integration with partner radios or internally developed transceivers, accommodating various hardware configurations.
This client IP can be combined with low-power neural processing units for on-device inference and sensor fusion, enabling the creation of systems capable of local decision-making while reducing reliance on cloud connectivity. Use cases include voice-activated devices, industrial monitoring nodes, and energy-efficient edge AI applications necessitating high-speed wireless links.
The Wi-Fi 7 1×1 client IP is available for licensing and can be integrated into multi-protocol platforms featuring Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, or UWB connectivity. Extensive documentation, evaluation resources, and technical insights can be accessed through the vendor’s website.
