Efficient RF amp covers sub-1 GHz

Qorvo has launched the QPA9510, a compact RF power amplifier that offers wideband coverage from 100 to 1000 MHz with exceptional efficiency. This amplifier streamlines the design process by replacing multiple discrete PAs, reducing SKU count, simplifying board design, and speeding up time to market for next-gen Sub-1GHz systems.

The demand for portable and long-range wireless communication is increasing in various sectors such as public safety radios, smart utility metering, RFID logistics, and telematics. To meet these market demands, designers must accommodate multiple regional bands, extend battery life, and minimize form factors. The QPA9510 addresses these challenges with its high efficiency, flat gain performance, and pin-compatible design for product family reuse.

Key features of the QPA9510 include: +36 dBm output power and 34 dB gain for robust link budgets in space-constrained systems; 55 percent efficiency for extended battery life in radios and IoT devices; over 70 dB of on-chip analog gain control for simplified system calibration; and a compact 3×3 mm QFN package with efficient thermal performance for handheld and embedded applications.

When paired with Qorvo’s LNAs, DSAs, and RF switches, the QPA9510 enables complete RF front-end solutions for efficient transmit-and-receive chains in linear communication systems.

The QPA9510 and its evaluation board are currently available through Qorvo’s authorized distribution network and on Qorvo.com.
