Combating online meeting fraud and deception

Online meetings have become the new norm for many organizations, replacing in-person gatherings that were once commonplace. The shift to remote work during the COVID pandemic jumpstarted this trend, with professionals now turning to virtual platforms for collaboration, interviews, idea exchange, and even socializing with colleagues.

A new partnership between cybersecurity firm Pindrop and collaboration platform Webex, a part of Cisco, aims to bring Pindrop’s advanced authentication, fraud detection, and deepfake detection technology, known as Pindrop Pulse for Meetings, to Webex users. This collaboration is set to enhance security and protection for enterprises engaging with customers, employees, and partners through voice and video interactions.

Cisco customers will have access to Pindrop’s suite of enterprise-grade solutions, including cutting-edge fraud detection, voice biometric authentication, fraud intelligence, and the innovative Pindrop Pulse for Meetings tool, specifically designed to detect deepfakes in real-time during online meetings. These capabilities will be integrated into Cisco’s customer contact centers and internal communication platforms to bolster security measures and safeguard against AI-powered fraud and synthetic media threats.

Through the Webex Contact Center, customers can utilize Pindrop applications to verify caller identities using voice biometric authentication, while also leveraging fraud detection tools to prevent unauthorized account access and identity fraud. In Webex Meetings, Pulse for Meetings provides real-time protection against deepfakes by analyzing audio, location, and video data to ensure the authenticity of participants and the security of sensitive meetings.

This innovative collaboration merges cutting-edge cybersecurity technology with leading collaboration platforms to offer enhanced security and protection for organizations in an increasingly digital world.
