Hedge fund expert Dan Ives has unveiled his top five tech stock picks for the year 2026.
During a recent interview on CNBC Squawk Box, Ives expressed his belief that artificial intelligence (AI) will drive the performance of the following tech companies: Tesla (TSLA), Microsoft (MSFT), Palantir (PLTR), CrowdStrike (CRWD), and Apple (AAPL) in the upcoming year.
“Our focus for 2026 revolves around the impact of the AI revolution. For every dollar invested in a NVIDIA chip, there is a significant multiplier effect across the tech industry. This is why we are particularly bullish on these five companies as we enter the early part of 2026. These are the names we are strongly endorsing.”
Ives predicted that Microsoft, which closed at $487 on Tuesday, could see a significant rise towards the $500 mark.
“As cloud and AI technologies continue to evolve, Microsoft is leading the race in the enterprise sector. I anticipate a $100 increase in its stock price.”
He also suggested that Apple, currently trading at around $273, could experience a surge to the $300 range driven by AI advancements.
“Despite being relatively inactive in AI, Apple is set to make major strides in partnership with Google in the upcoming year. This shift towards consumer AI innovation at Cupertino could lead to a $75 increase in its stock price.”
Furthermore, Ives projected that Tesla, closing at $454 per share on Tuesday, would witness growth due to advancements in autonomous vehicles and robotics.
“The introduction of autonomous technology marks a pivotal moment for Tesla. This year is crucial for Tesla and Elon Musk. The potential of autonomous technology alone could add a trillion dollars to Tesla’s value. Tesla is at the forefront of physical AI, making it a standout investment.”
CrowdStrike closed at $475 on Tuesday, showing over 39% growth year to date. Palantir, on the other hand, closed at $180, with a remarkable 139% year-to-date increase.
